Merlin Gerin Compact range of MCCBs is the leading international brand. Compliance to all major international standards and tropicalisalion to withstand extreme climatic conditions has ensured its most preferred status in more than 130 countries all over the world.

The offered range comprises of the latest Compact NS series from 16 A to 630 A and Compact C from 800 A to 1250 A.

Designed to meet and also to exceed the requirements of latest standards
(IEC-947-2 / IS 13947-2), these mccb's offer wide range of special features with exceptional performance characteristics.

Service continuity :

The innovative 'roto-active' breaking principle is the heart of the latest NS range. Comprising of an unique double break, rotary contact system along with a pressure tripping unit, the reflex mechanism, it ensures exceptional current limitation. Total discrimination is achievable as a standard feature

Reliable protection :

The high levels of breaking capabilities is supported by a extensive range of tripping releases, both thermo-magnetic and electronic, with a host of user definable options for protection, monitoring, measurement and communication.

User friendly :

A modular construction along with a wide range of site-fittable common auxiliaries and add-on functional modules allows field conversion of the basic breaker to a multifunctional one as per user requirement. Rationalization dimensions has enabled availability of 8 breaker ratings with 3 breaking capacities in just 3 frame sizes with uniform cut-outs/mounting dimensions.

Total Safety :

All compact circuit breakers are suitable for isolation as defined by IEC947-2, even when equipped with motor mechanism or rotary handle. Locking in the open position (maximum 3 padlocks or key lock) ensures total safety during maintenance.

Roto - Active mechanism :

The Roto-active breaking system provides the circuit breakers with a high level breaking capacity in a confined space, and an outstanding disconnection and endurance performance.

Each device contains 3 or 4 identical breaking units each of which is sealed in a thermoset polyester chamber. The breaking mechanism comprises two contacts in series with an intermediate contact mounted on a rotating pivot. At high fault currents, due to magnetic repulsion produced by current reversal phenomenon, two arcs are generated. The rotating movement directs the arc into the arc chutes and ensures rapid extinction.

The reflex tripping system consists of piston trip unit which is connected to the arc chute chamber of the breaking units. The gases produced during fault interruption is directed to the piston unit which directly actuates the breaker opening mechanism, the impulsion time is minimum and faults of 15kA are cleared in 2 milisecs.

Masterpact Presentation :

Masterpact circuit breakers are used to protect and control low-voltage distribution systems. They may be installed in main LV switchboards (incoming units, main and secondary outgoings). Masterpact is a complete range offering a large selection of performance levels :

  • ratings from 800 to 6300A, AC, from 1000 to 8000 A DC;
  • breaking capacity from 40 to 150 kA rms;
  • operational voltages 690 V Ac, 1000 V DC.

Many versions :

  • 3 or 4 poles;
  • fixed or drawout versions;
  • current-limiting version up to 2500 A;
  • Wide range of control units offering multiple functions.

Merlin Gerin's MULTI 9 breakers have been designed to continually adapt to these evolving needs using new innovative solutions.

A COMPLETE MODULAR RANGE

  • Multi 9 is not just a name. The significance of '9' is most important for design, as the width of each module is in multiples of 9mm.
  • Dinrail fitment through an easy snap - on action coupled with auxiliaries viz. shunt trip, undervoltage release, auxiliary contact - all adaptable in field without any special tools and without interrupting power supply.

HIGHER PERFORMANCE IN A SMALLER PACKAGE

  • Merlin Gerin"Multi 9" C60H MCBs are current limiting type with a breaking capacity of 10kA as per the latest Standards IEC 898 (1995) / IS 8828 (1996).
  • These MCBs provide reliable protection of circuits against overload & shortcircuit - ideal for industrial, commercial & residential installations.
  • Tripping curves (B, C & D type) are stabilized to offer repeat accuracy.

FLEXIBILITY

  • Multi 9 C60H MCB can be used as an incoming breaker and easily co-ordinated with Merlin Gerin MCCBs through effective discrimination & cascading.
  • No line/load restriction ensures that any of the terminals can be used as incoming or outgoing.
  • Suitable for 400 Hz as well ad DC applications. (in addition to 50Hz)
  • Can be mounted easily in any of the regular distribution boards.

ENERGY SAVING

  • IEC 898-1995 / IS8828-1996 have recognised the growing importance of limiting power loss in switchgear devices and stipulated maximum permissible power loss values per pole for MCBs. C60H Electrical Auxiliaries :

C60 auxiliaries enable remote tripping or remote indication of the ON/OFF position of an MCB.

They are mounted by clipping on the left hand side of the MCB.

REMOTE INDICATION :

OF Auxiliary Switch :

  • A changeover switch which acts as an indicating or control device to monitor the "ON" or "OFF" position of an MCB.
  • Test function

SD Alarm Switch :

  • An indicating device which monitors the tripping of an MCB. This device offers the following
    • A red flag trip indicator
    • Ability to reset without closing the MCB.
    • Test function.

REMOTE TRIPPING :

MX + OF Shunt Trip Release :

  • Enable the MCB to be tripped from a remote location.
  • Allows remote indication of the "OFF" or "ON" position of the MCB by using the same voltage as the one feeding the shunt trip (terminals 12 and 14)
  • Is equipped with a cut-off switch in series with the coil.
  • All shunt trip release devices are equipped with a red flag trip indicator

MN Undervoltage Release :

  • Enables the miniature circuit breaker to be tripped either when the voltage drops or by operation of the"OFF" push button of a remote device tripping between 70 and 35% Un' closing 85%Un'
  • Prevents the MCB from being switched "ON" again if the undervoltage release supply is not present.
  • MNS under voltage release (time delayed), allows micro breaks < 200 ms without effects.
  • All undervoltage releases are equipped with a red flag trip indicator.
